What is the class format?
In-person lectures on Fridays 3:30pm - 5:20pm in Thornton 110, which are recorded. No homework but there are two exams: a midterm and a final.
When should I take this class?
If you:
- have a solid existing understanding of linear algebra, probability theory and differential equations, alongside basic machine learning concepts
- want to understand how diffusion works and learn about the tricks used in the latest derived architectures
- are interested in understanding ongoing image generation trends
then this class is the perfect fit for you!

Yes! Exact time and location are as follows:
- Midterm: May 1st, 2026, 3:30pm - 5:00pm, Thornton 110
- Final: June 8th, 2026, 7:00pm - 8:30pm, 370-370
